PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce control overhead in packet communication for easily incorporating into a radio network related to current IEEE 802.11 standard. SOLUTION: In an ad hoc radio network transmission source radio station, an RTS packet signal including an implicit ACK flag for indicating whether the transmission of an ACK packet signal for indicating success in the reception of data packet signals is needed or unneeded is transmitted to a destination radio station. A CTS packet signal including the last data reception flag for indicating whether the reception of last data packet signals was successful or not is received from the destination radio station. When the previous data reception flag in the received CTS packet signal shows failure in the reception of the preceding data packet signals, the preceding data packet signals are retransmitted. At the same time, when the previous data reception flag in the received CTS packet signal indicates success in the reception of the preceding data packet signal, a new data packet signal is transmitted.
