PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a load on a user for inputting a character, by displaying on a display a plurality of characters or symbols allocated to a key while the key is pressed down, sequentially changing the characters or symbols one by one and determining, as an input character, the character or the symbol displayed on the display when the key is released from being pressed down. SOLUTION: While one of the keys of a key operation part 102 is pressed down, wherein a plurality of characters or symbols are allocated to one key, the displays on a display part 103 of a plurality of characters or symbols allocated to the key are changed one by one at every prescribed period (for example, at every 0.5 second), and the character or the symbol displayed when the pressing of the key is released is determined to be an input character. By this, a user only takes his/her fingers off from a key he/she presses at timing when a character he/she wants to input is displayed to determine an input character.
