PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor and its control method, and a program for efficiently and suitably presenting a retrieval result intended by a user. SOLUTION: Multi-media data are retrieved on the basis of retrieval conditions. A desired retrieval object is set from retrieval purpose candidates. The multi-medial data acquired as a retrieval result are analyzed according to an analytic rule corresponding to the retrieval conditions. A display rule corresponding to the set retrieval purpose is selected, and display contents to be displayed as the retrieval result are decided on the basis of the selected display rule and the analytic result.
