PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent input errors by eliminating the need for a customer to input information that serves as the basis for layout and design, and to calculate a cable length on the basis of layout information that takes the number of connector ports and wiring paths along height into consideration. SOLUTION: A layout creation robot 10 investigates a customer floor 30 whose layout is to be created. The robot then acquires existing computer installation information and layout information that serve as the basis for the creation of the floor layout. Based on those pieces of information acquired and either information from a customer terminal 20 about a computer to be newly installed or information about the transfer of an existing computer, the robot creates and reports the floor layout and a list of newly required cables to the customer terminal 20.
