PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of performing an attachment and removal operation of a second image support in a safe and sure manner, while preventing a user's misoperation, in an attachment and removal operation of a second image support. SOLUTION: When a user takes out the second image support from inside a body frame 10, the user first holds knob parts 5 and 6 of the second image support and draws out the image support. When the support is drawn out to some extent, handles 2 and 3 are in the state that they are placed inside a cover 1. (The drawing shows the state that they are taken out from a cover storage part 4.) An interference part 9 faces upward in the drawing. When the handle 2 is kept stored inside the cover, the interference part 9 and the body frame 10 interfere with each other, preventing the second image support from being drawn out. When the user uplifts the handles 2 and 3 for holding them, the interference part 9 comes into the state that it lies getting away from the body, and the second image support can be drawn out from inside the body frame 10.
