PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer tomographic apparatus contributable to improved image quality. SOLUTION: This apparatus comprises a phantom 26 having a planar clearance, and a cross line setting means giving a relative displacement to the phantom 26 set so that the clearance is orthogonal to the axis of the rotation in the direction of the axis and determining the position of a line in a data matrix corresponding to the central line of the clearance when a transmission image obtained for the planar clearance of the phantom 26 becomes most clear.
