PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new roof tile capable of having the excellence in wind resistance without causing any split and chip even in manufacture, conveyance, construction and after construction and being firmly laid down. SOLUTION: The roof tile is constructed from eaves side over a ridge side so that it can be piled up so as to locate a head section 10c side in a tail section 10d side, at the same time, it is constituted by forming engagement sections 10g engaging with sash bars W fixed to the upper surface of a substrate material U such as a sheathing roof board or the like in the back and, at the same time, the roof tile 10 is fixed by a fixture N such as a nail and a screw or the like, the first insertion hole 10h inserting the fixture N driven or pushed in each sash bar W therein is formed in the head section 10c side slightly rather than a formation position of each engagement section 10g, at the same time, a thin section 10a piling the other side of the adjoining roof tile to be constructed is formed in at least one side, the second insertion hole 10i inserting the fixture N therein is formed in the thin section 10a, and the insertion hole 10i is located in the head section 10c side rather than a formation position of the first insertion hole 10h.
