<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the manufacturing method of a roller for electrophotography having no coating film unevenness in a covering layer and having a uniform image characteristic, and to provide the roller for electrophotography manufactured by using this method. <P>SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the roller for electrophotography in which at least an electrically conductive elastic layer and the covering layer are successively laminated on an electrically conductive shaft center body, the lamination process of the covering layer contains a dip coating process in which an object to be coated is dipped in a coating liquid containing insulating particles of 3 to 30μn average grain size and then is lifted up to form a coating layer. The dip coating process is carried out under a condition where the coating liquid always overflows from the upper part of the coating layer in both a dipping process and a lifting process and under a condition where following relational formulae are satisfied. 0.5≤s≤2.5 ... (1), B/s≥3 ... (2), wherein (B) denotes the cross sectional area [cm<SP>2</SP>] of a coating liquid flow path of a coating tank and (s) denotes the dip cross sectional area [cm<SP>2</SP>] of the object to be coated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
