DEODORIZATION APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorization apparatus provided with a deodorization material having a small ventilation resistance and capable of being easily obtained in large amounts at low cost.

SOLUTION: The deodorization apparatus 1 removes an odor component (ammonia component) contained in an odor gas G1 when the odor gas G1 is passed through the deodorization material 4 filled in a deodorization tank 3. The deodorization material 4 comprises porous cellular concrete of light weight or a particulate of pumice, and functions as a microorganism immobilization carrier in which water for dissolving the odor component is retained and an aerobe for oxidizing the dissolved odor component and a denitrification fungus for denitrifying the reaction product produced by oxidization are deposited/immobilized to the particulate. The apparatus further comprises a water-spraying device 13 for spraying water to the deodorization material 4 to cause the reaction product produced by the oxidization to flow downward below the deodorization material 4; and a circulation device for storing water sprayed and flowing downward and returning the water to the water-spraying device 13.
