PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide network equipment easily coping with the situation where specifications of a format used for distribution are corrected or renewed when distributing communication information, equipment information or the like related to office equipment or the like to a user. SOLUTION: This network equipment generates information for equipment management such as an operation log, an equipment state or equipment setting according to requirement from the user, converts the generated information by use of a conversion rule, and provides it to the outside of the equipment. The equipment has: an authentication means deciding whether the user has authority to a processing function required by the user; a conversion rule storage means storing the conversion rule; a selection means selecting the conversion rule for the equipment held by a distribution server designated by the equipment, or the conversion rule recorded in a detachable recording medium; and an update means updating the conversion rule storage means by the conversion rule selected by the selection means.
