PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sales proceeds depositing machine which prevents more bills from being deposited than necessary, while having a simple composition without a temporary reservation unit. SOLUTION: The sales proceeds depositing machine has a rejection unit having a function as a temporal reservation unit. Namely, for the first time, after bills inserted in a hopper are counted, all of them are sent to the rejection unit. When the bills taken out of the rejection unit after confirming the amount of money are inserted into the hopper for the second time, the bills are directly stored in a bill cassette after they are counted.
