PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which directly forms images, characters and the like to recording papers by making toner fly by an air pressure. SOLUTION: Compressed air generated by a compressed air generator 5 is supplied via an air pressure regulation chamber 6 to a nozzle 90 formed at a nozzle member 9. An air valve 8 is set between the air pressure regulation chamber 6 and the nozzle 90. A control device 10 carries out turning on/off of the compressed air that flows into the nozzle 90 from the air pressure regulation chamber 6, by controlling the air valve 8 to open and close on the basis of an image signal inputted from an input device 11. When the compressed air flows into the nozzle 90 from the air pressure regulation chamber 6 and flows in a down direction, the toner T is drawn out from a supply port 90a into the nozzle 90 and is discharged together with the compressed air from a nozzle tip.
