PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical diagnostic apparatus which controls the movements of a movable part more precisely by detecting a subject more precisely by a proximity sensor. SOLUTION: Sensitivity of a sensor at an end part 31E is made relatively higher than that at a central part 31S by making a width of the central part 31C narrower than that of the end part 31E of a transducer electrode 31 located at a position closest to a subject out of one or a plurality of electrodes (the electrode 31, a screening electrode, and a ground electrode) constituting the proximity sensor, and the sensitivity of the sensor at the end part 31E is relatively offset.
