The invention relates to the use of an additive for feed which is intended for the culture of fish and to a feed containing said additive, which is effective in counteracting oxidative stress and, in particular, toxicity caused by pesticide treatments which are used to eliminate parasites from teleosts. The inventive feed additive comprises an effective quantity of N-acetylcysteine or a pharmaceutically-acceptable salt thereof, which can stimulate the intracellular synthesis of glutathione and induce glutathione S-transferase activity in fish.
