The invention relates to mutants of the human Grb7 adapter protein and of the natural variant thereof, Grb7V, both of which are devoid of a functional domain involved in the binding of calmodulin, Grb7? and Grb7V?, and conditioned media derived from cells transfected by Grb7? and Grb7V? with biological activity, including, inter alia, positive or negative modulation of angiogenesis, cell motility and cell proliferation, as well as other functions necessary for metastatic tumour survival, progression or invasion, and factors present that are responsible for said activities.
