A method of producing a raceway ring for a radial ball bearing in which the raceway ring is formed by at least either an outer ring where an outer ring raceway with a circular arc cross-section is formed as a raceway surface in an axially intermediate section of an inner peripheral surface, along the entire periphery of the outer ring, or an inner ring where an inner ring raceway with a circular arc cross-section is formed as a raceway surface in an axially intermediate section of an outer peripheral surface, along the entire periphery of the inner ring, and which radial ball bearing has balls rollably arranged between the inner ring raceway and the outer ring raceway. The method has a high precision material processing process for forming by cold working a hollow cylinder-like high precision material having substantially the same volume as the volume of the raceway ring, as a finished product, for a radial ball bearing and has a raceway ring processing process for forming the raceway ring in the axially intermediate section of either of the peripheral surfaces by plastically deforming the high precision material by cold working, and the method does not perform processing for removing a material at least before heat treatment.
