The present invention refers to a production process for optimising and saving consumables and raw material useful for producing cooked clay products, said process including mixing cellulose fibers with clay for shaping the required piece. After the shaping process the piece is dried and cooked, thereby obtaining a product with multiple and small pores since the cellulose fiber is calcined and leaves hollows where it was located. The inventive process provides a plurality of benefits such as the use of a lower amount of fuel for drying and cooking the product; a reduced energy supply since the burning process of the cellulose fiber provides 0.75% of heat to the drying process and 5% during the cooking process. The process is further characterized in that it provides a light, flexible, acoustic and thermal product, thereby saving from about 10% to about 60% of raw material (clay); the process also reduces both production and freight costs, abrasion and ware of the machines that process the mixture or product.
