<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to easily and efficiently browse contents of files (for instance, photographs) scattering throughout a plurality of folders in a PC in the form of a slide show. <P>SOLUTION: All files located below a specific folder in a PC are rearranged in the order of their creation date and time, and the files created in the same period (for instance, the same day) are combined with one another to form one 'event'. Next, a background image and background music for a title image are selected in line with attribute information of the event, for instance, the creation dates and times of the files constituting the event; and a 'movie tone' (specifically an XML file) for defining the display method of the event is generated. Each event is changed over and displayed on a screen according to the generated movie tone for every event.
