<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a high performance system for enabling a user not to make an error in reading and hearing by presenting a warning message from a computer side when the user places an order on the basis of a merchandise name. <P>SOLUTION: A device for presenting the name of a visually and auditorily similar article is provided. When the user inputs individual merchandise names or the like as a character string, the device presents the names of a similar article which is apt to bring about an error in reading and hearing by the user with respect to the inputted merchandise names or the like on the basis of the measure of visual similarity (similarity in the form of a character which is apt to bring about a reading error by the user when the user reads characters) of the character sequence belonging to the merchandise names or the like and auditory similarity (similarity which is apt to bring about hearing error by the user when the characters are heard as sound). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
