<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording/reproducing device capable of surely holding a connection element to stably execute tape threading, and to provide a tape pulling-out element therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The magnetic recording/reproducing device, which has a connection element 8 at the end of a tape housed in a tape cassette 2 and pulls out the connection element 8 to wind it around a drive reel, is provided with: a leader tape 41 having one end side connected to the drive reel, a tape pulling-out element 40 connected to the other end side of the leader tape 41; and a pulling-out element moving motor 51 for moving the tape pulling-out element 40 into the tape cassette 2. The tape pulling-out element 40 is provided with a first member 42 having a recess 42A formed therein, and a second member 43 connected to the first member 42 to be displaced.
