PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform processing efficiently by reducing the frequency of memory clearance as much as possible. SOLUTION: A memory managing device for managing an image memory (RAM 23) for storing image data transmitted from a host comprises a transmission data management 26 for managing the presence or absence and the size of image data transmitted from the host; and an image memory region management 21 for managing the empty region of the image memory, and determining a shortage in the memory region for storing the transmission data based on information from the transmission data management 26. The image memory region management 21 grasps a memory clearance region by managing the region of the memory, and selects a memory clearance means (either a memory clearance section 12 or a CPU 1) according to the memory clearance region when a transmission request arrives from the host.
