PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monoglyceride-containing composition having a high monoglyceride content. SOLUTION: This monoglyceride-containing composition is obtained by a method including a process in which glycerol is reacted with at least one acyl-containing compound selected from a group consisting of a fatty acid and a glycerol ester and a catalyst containing at least one metal selected from a group consisting of iron, cobalt, and manganese is used in an amount of 0.1-60 ppm as a mass ratio of the metal to a total mass of the glycerol and the acyl-containing compound.
