PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve timing control device of an internal combustion engine, avoiding sliding of a holder member, a sprocket and a plate to restrain the occurrence of contamination, and improved in operational responsiveness and durability. SOLUTION: This valve timing control device includes: a coiled spring disposed in a retard oil chamber and/or an advance oil chamber for applying the energizing force to a vane and a shoe to separate from each other; and a holder member formed to hold the coiled spring and having a sliding part provided on the circumferential side of the vane to slide at least in the direction of a rotating shaft, both side ends of which are formed of a curved surface.
