PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving body moving method capable of shortening moving time more easily when the moving distance of the moving body is short, a controller for the moving body moving method and a machine tool provided with the controller. SOLUTION: When a distance where the moving body moves is less than a criterion distance, for example, when a moving speed of the moving body does not reach a maximum fast conveyance speed according to a fast conveyance command such as a G00 command, the moving body is actually and automatically changed to moving based on a step-like conveyance command such as a G01 command even in the case of G00 on a program.
