A multitude of small cosmetic articles like lipsticks, mascara, or nail varnish is stored in a transparent container (1) in order to facilitate a view at the item to be selected. When a drawer at the bottom is pulled and a single object is removed the next item is moved along several inclined surfaces into a position suitable for removal. The customer can have a closer look at the article and either take it to the cash point or put it back into the container (1) through a slot.
