PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a demagnetization method and a demagnetization device capable of increasing the degree of versatility of the design without increasing the cost. SOLUTION: In the demagnetization method, an object 4 for demagnetization is placed within the magnetic field formed by a plurality of magnets 2 while the opposing polarities are periodically changed with the opposing polarities of the plurality of adjacent magnets 2 being identical, and the intensity of the magnetic field applied to the object 4 is gradually weakened.
