PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slave stroboscopic apparatus capable of surely exerting synchronization control without missing a control signal associated with preliminary light emitted from a master stroboscopic apparatus. SOLUTION: The slave stroboscopic apparatus includes: a light receiving sensor 1 for receiving preliminary light emitted from the master stroboscopic apparatus and producing a light receiving signal corresponding to the amount of light received; a differentiating circuit 3 for differentiating the light receiving signal; a diode 6 set between the output part of the differentiating circuit 3 and the ground and connected to the differentiating circuit 3 at its cathode terminal; and a light receiving circuit composed of a voltage conversion circuit 4 for converting the output signal of the differentiating circuit 3 to a voltage level for control. This prevents such a phenomenon that when preliminary light emissions are received in succession, the head portions of the waveform of the output signal of the differentiating circuit 3 drop.
