PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image of high image quality while using a high durability image bearing member, with respect to an image forming apparatus adopting a so-called electrophotographic system and having an image bearing member bearing an electrostatic latent image and a toner container for containing toner. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a cleaning blade 151, the image bearing member 11 has a protective layer 111 containing a siloxane resin in an outermost surface, and the toner container 141 houses toner particles stipulated that more small-size toner particles are included using a parameter obtained by focusing attention on both a volume-based particle size distribution of toner particles and a number-based particle size distribution of toner particles, wherein the toner particles have an average shape factor SF within a range of 115-140 and a volume average particle diameter D50v within a range of 3.0-9.0μm.
