PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of transferring a sticky adhesive material which is capable of cutting the sticky adhesive material accurately and surely into sticky adhesive pieces of prescribed size, separating them from each other, and transferring each of them easily onto the required part of a target object of transference. SOLUTION: A cutter 8 is equipped with a pair of blades 8a and 8a which are provided so as to be freely opened or closed. The cutter 8 and a cradle 9 are provided confronting each other through a tape transfer path through which a carrier tape 5 carrying an ACF layer 6 is transferred, the cutter 8 is advanced against the transferred ACF layer 6 at right angles to make the cutting edges of the blades 8a and 8a cut into only the ACF layer 6 so as not to reach the carrier tape 5, thereafter the blades 8a and 8a are moved in parallel with the bearing surface 9a of the cradle 9 so as to be opened, the cut surfaces s and s formed in the ACF layer 6 are separated from a cutting line L respectively by a distance (d) which is required in a following transfer process.
