PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To readily handle a water storage portion to be sanitarily held, even if the water storage portion is removed from a main body. SOLUTION: The rice cooker has the main body 1, a pot 2 detachably stored in the main body 1, a cover 3 for covering the main body 1 so as to be freely opened or closed, a pot heating means 4 for heating the pot 2, a steam generation means 17 for generating steam. The steam generation means 17 has a recessed portion 8 provided on the upper surface of the main body 1 and storing water, and a recessed portion-heating means 9 for heating the recessed portion 8. The bottom of the recessed portion 8 has a substantially partially spherical surface, so that the recessed portion 8 provided on the upper surface of the main body 1 as the water storage portion is readily wiped with a dishcloth after used, and thus is kept clean without removing the water tank as in the case of a conventional rice cooker.
