PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance processing capacity of a printer at the time of recording a plurality of images while preventing waste of recording medium and deterioration of image due to variation in load during transfer of the recording medium, and to cut the recording medium at an proper position. SOLUTION: A sheet unrolled from a sheet feeding section 40 is transferred toward the downstream side in the transfer direction while opposing thermal heads 71a-73a in a print section 70 without printing a color image. Transfer of the sheet is stopped at a moment in time when the sheet long enough to entirely printing a plurality of images included in one order is transferred to the downstream side of the print section 70 in the transfer direction. Subsequently, the plurality of color images are printed continuously by the thermal heads 71a-73a in the print section 70 while transferring the sheet reversely toward the upstream side in the transfer direction by a transfer pair roller 34 arranged on the upstream side of the print section 70 in the transfer direction.
