The various operations related to sheet feed, exposure, &c. take place in sequence in a cycle initiated by arrival of a sheet at the transfer station C and at times controlled by the belt speed. Preferably a timer T driven in sychronism with a roller 19, which contacts the reverse sides of the sheets at the transfer station, emits a series of pulses at a rate determined by the speed of the belt, and the operations of the machine take place on specific pulses. The roller 19 may have a circumference which exceeds the length of an individual sheet.</p> |
