<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of forming a form intended by a user, a method of controlling the image processing apparatus, an image forming apparatus and printing system for a digital still camera. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus is provided with an image input means for inputting an image; a form data storage means for storing at least one data of form to create a form of a predetermined format in which a plurality of images are arranged; a form selecting means for selecting any one of the form data stored in the form data storage means; and an image synthesizing means for reading the form data selected by the form data selecting means from the form data storage means, arranging the image data inputted from the image input means in accordance with the selected form data, and synthesizing an image in accordance with the format information included in the selected form data.
