PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet carrying device provided with a chip-like sheet detecting sensor, having excellent installability, and generating litytle chattering and capable of carrying even a thin sheet without scratch it. SOLUTION: This sheet carrying device 41 is provided with a pair of rollers 23 for carrying sheets and a sheet detecting device 1 for detecting the sheet carried by the pair of rollers 23. The sheet detecting device 1 is provided with a flag 2 to be pushed and displaced by the sheet carried by the pair of rollers 23 and a chip-like acceleration detecting sensor 4 fitted to the flag 2 to detect the arrival of the sheet.
