PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vending machine capable of reliably notifying an operator of the anomaly of an initiation operation even when the initiation operation of a carrying control section has not normally finished. SOLUTION: When the initiation operation of the carrying control section 70 has not normally finished, the machine is in a predetermined vendable state and when the initiation operation has not normally finished, the machine continuously displays the display of being in initiation process on an amount display section 23, outputs an alarm sound by a buzzer 81, and performs an alarm operation for flickering an illumination lamp 28, all vendable lamps 22a and all sold-out lamps 22b. Thus, the machine can reliably notify the operator whether or not the initiation operation of the carrying control section 70 has normally finished by the above-alarm operation without the operator's visual confirmation of turning on of vending lamps 29, and thereby returning to the vendable state quickly.
