The invention relates to a method and a device for melting sugar, referred to in the following as solid, whereby at least one melting tube (1) configured as a direct heat exchanger is used as the device for melting the sugar. Said melting tube comprises a feed (2) for the solid, a discharge (3) for the liquid resulting from melting the solid by phase transition, a feed (4) for a heat exchange fluid and a discharge (5) for said heat exchange fluid. The heat exchange fluid and the solid are in direct contact inside the melting tube (1) for the purpose of heat exchange. |
