PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a medical image processed in a desired state by means of an interactive image process using a pointing device.

SOLUTION: The medical image processing apparatus comprises an image display means for displaying an image of medical image data being processed on a display screen, an operation input part for detecting the pressing of a button disposed in the pointing device and detecting the quantity of movement in the horizontal direction and in the vertical direction of the pointing device for moving a pointer displayed on the image, and an image processing part for applying the frequency process to the image data as the image processing based on a plurality of parameters corresponding to the quantity of movement in the horizontal direction and in the vertical direction of the pointing device detected during the button is pressed if the pressing of the prescribed button is detected.
