<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for automatically building up mathematical expression entered into a computer system. <P>SOLUTION: This system can include an input module that accepts input of the mathematical expression in a linear character string format, and an interpret module that interprets the input and automatically determines when a buildup point is reached. The system can further include a formatting module that, upon reaching the buildup point, automatically formats at least a portion of the mathematical expression into a two-dimensional format. A display module displays the portion of the mathematical expression in the two-dimensional format.
