PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless LAN system and base station thereof in which sufficient security can be ensured when temporarily connecting a terminal, out of a group, to the wireless LAN system. SOLUTION: In the wireless LAN system where radio communication is performed between terminal stations via a base station, (1) between terminal stations 20 inside a group, communication is performed using a first common key Key1 via a base station 10. (2) When connecting a terminal station 30 out of the group, a second common key Key2 with a use limitation is set to the terminal station 30 out of the group and to the base station 10. When performing communication between a terminal station 20 in the group and the terminal station 30 out of the group, between the terminal station 20 in the group and the base station 10, communication is performed using the first common key Key1 and between the terminal station 30 out of the group and the base station 10, on the other hand, communication is performed using the second common key Key2.
