PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-propelled device which can determine a traveling pattern without depending on a landmark. SOLUTION: This device comprises an information transmission device 30 transmitting equipment identification data, and a self-propelled device body 1 traveling based on the equipment identification data from the information transmission device 30. The self-propelled device body 1 comprises a traveling means 2, an infrared-rays receiving part 9 receiving the equipment identification data, a traveling pattern storing means 10 storing traveling patterns for each equipment identification data, and a traveling pattern selection means 11 selecting a traveling pattern stored at the traveling pattern storing means 10, and selects a traveling pattern corresponding to the equipment identification data received by the infrared rays receiving part 9 with the travelling pattern selection means 11. In this manner, the traveling pattern of the self-propelled device body 1 can be determined based on the equipment identification data from the information transmission device 30.
