PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building glass block which hardly induces alkali discoloration (clouding of glass by alkali metal carbonate) and is easily produced. SOLUTION: The building glass block is produced by subjecting the open edge of a pair of bottomed open box-shaped translucent glass molded products having a translucent surface on the bottom to the fusion integration, wherein the translucent glass molded products have an amount of alkali metals leached therefrom of 1.5 mg or less in terms of oxides in the powder waterproof test of ASTM C225-85, and have a temperature (melting point) of 1,550°C or lower at which their viscosity become 10<SP>2</SP>dPa×s. The translucent glass molded products are composed of translucent glass that comprises in mass% 50-70% SiO<SB>2</SB>, 4-11% Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 2-7% B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 10-18% R<SB>2</SB>O (R:Li, Na, K), and 2-16% R'O (R':Ca, Mg, Ba, Sr, Zn).
