<p>A cellulose filament having a gamma index of 60-100 and density of 300 poises is immersed in a bath contg. 25g/l acid, 2 gm/l Zn2SO4 and Na2SO4, and is drawn by 30-80% to produce a gamma index (gamma), of 28-40, and an expansion (G) 5-8. Excess liq. is removed from the filament and the acid conc (a) of the liq. is 6-9.5 g/l and gamma, G and a are related by the function 18 gamma,- a (G-1) / 3 28. The filaments are then drawn in air by 0-100% to produce a gamma index (gamma2) of 21-28, and the filaments is then relaxed in a neutral or alkaline bath at 20-80% before passing to a warm dilute acid regenerating bath. The filament has a stable crimp having a crimp level of 4-15 and a crimp energy of 2-10; yarn produce thereof has high tenacity, elasticity, and transverse strength.</p> |
