The apparatus has a panel holder or plate holder (10) with a load bearing arm (10a) adjustable in length according to dimensions of panels or plates. The arm has a handle bar (12) with control handles (13, 14), and control units which control locking and unlocking of a panel or plate support articulation device. The bar has an orientation unit to orient position of the panel or plate holder in horizontal, vertical or intermediate position.
