The device has an elastic sleeve (10) fixed around a nut (1) that is fixed on an engine of a motor vehicle. The sleeve has an end (11) comprising an orifice for receiving a fixation screw (7), and a tapered part (17). The tapered part has a predetermined length so as to be introduced with the screw in the orifice so as to limit direct contact between the screw and the engine. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling an engine and an accessory.
