Imaged and vocal representation of a multimedia document

The method involves transforming a multimedia document into a pre-analyzed document describing units of the former document, by a parser (PD). Background and form characteristics of the latter document are determined. Pictorial characteristics are selected according to the background and form characteristics, by a central unit (UC). A pictorial representation of the multimedia document is generated based on the latter characteristics. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a representation server for generating a pictorial representation of a multimedia document (B) a computer program on an information medium for generating a pictorial representation of a multimedia document in a representation server.
