The invention relates to the use of a VEGF receptor gene or receptor for the prevention or treatment of restenoses, ischaemia, arteriosclerosis and other cases of exuberant proliferation. The invention especially relates to the use thereof in therapy following balloon catheter treatment of the coronary vessels.
