The filter feeding machine (10) may be used e.g. in the manufacture of cigarettes. There is a feeding system (11) with a number of pickup elements (12) performing an orbiting motion. Each pickup element has a format holder (14). A rotating shaft (13) has cranked portions (13.1,13.2) with links (19) to a driven disk (16). A motor (24) with a belt drive (25) is used.
