<p>A high speed signal analysing device is for the analysis of short duration non repetitive signals arising the nuclear physics, ionization or ballistics etc., it generates a beam of radiation. The beam is modulated by the high speed signal and is simultaneously scanned across a linear charge coupled device (8). In one embodiment an electron beam is generated from a cathode (1) and modulated with the high speed signal applied on line (3) ot a modulating grid (2). An element (4) focusses the beam prior to passage through a beam scanning deflector (6) which scans the beam over charge coupled device (8) under the control of unit (7). The beam may be a laser. Signal to noise ratio may be reduced by simultaneous scanning of three charge coupled devices masked to varying degrees.</p> |
