FIELD: electrical engineering; electrified railway contact systems. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed emergency disconnection system for power transmission lines has power transmission line conductors attached to poles and connected to short-circuit relay protective units disposed on sectionalizing stations and at outputs of power substations; ground circuit arranged along power transmission line; and emergency disconnection device installed under each conductor of power transmission line that has metal rod with two U-shaped metal catchers at ends; mentioned rod is rigidly fixed to pole symmetrically to point of line conductor fixation to insulator and electrically connected to ground circuit. ^ EFFECT: enhanced operating efficiency of relay short-circuit protective gear 0n occurrence of open circuit or disconnection of line conductor from attachment point, or its breakage. ^ 1 cl, 2 dwg
