The device has two sensors (20, 22) whose surfaces are covered by a covering (28) that has a protrusion (29) at the level of a detection surface (25) of each sensor. The covering has two flexing zones (30) that are present on both sides of the protrusion to laterally control both sides of a rib, where the protrusion has a widened base (35). The zones are made in the form of low thickness zones of the covering. The two flexing zones (30) are present on both sides of the protrusion so that force parallel to covering surface applied against the protrusion leads to flexion of the covering to transmit vertical bearing force on the surface (25). An independent claim is also included for a dome light of a motor vehicle including a sunroof opening controlling unit having an electrical control device.
